A police officer bitten by a man who told him that he had HIV spoke of his nightmare six month wait to be cleared of the disease by doctors.

PC Richard Terry was hurt as he arrested Ryan Pearce on suspicion of assaulting his father.

The 21-year-old chomped down on the horrified officer’s finger and laughed at him: “Good, I’ve got HIV!”
