The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has arrived at the High Court sitting at Maitama in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, amid heavy security.

Bello, who was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, arrived at the court premises around 8:50 am on Wednesday.

The EFCC had declared Bello wanted in April over allegations of financial fraud and misconduct during his tenure as governor. The anti-graft agency had been investigating Bello for several months, but he had evaded arrest and prosecution until his detention on Tuesday.

Bello was arrested in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged fraud during his tenure.
