The Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, Adamu Duza, earlier reported that Bello had been released after meeting his bail conditions on Friday evening, December 20.
After a long ‘hide and seek’ with the anti-graft agency, Bello, accused of money laundering, corruption and N80 billion fraud charges alleged to have been perpetuated during his tenure as the governor of the state, was arraigned before a court sitting in Abuja.
The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, returned home to a great celebration following his release from Kuje prison. He was received by his successor, Usman Ododo, and his supporters.
In a video circulating online, Ododo and his followers were seen celebrating Bello’s return.
