Peter described Jesus as the Lamb without blemish (1 Cor 5:7) while St John referred to him as the slain Lamb (Rev. 6:15). However, when John the Baptist saw Him approaching, he proclaimed “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). With those few words, John, the forerunner of Jesus, declared Jesus’ identity and His redemptive mission. He introduced Christ our Passover Lamb who was sacrificed for us.
The slain lamb who died in our place is risen! Today, the resurrected Lamb is the Lamb on the throne worthy to receive all honour, glory and praise. Hallelujah, the Lamb has overcome!
