Let’s revisit old posts: you know who you are, what God thinks of you, why He created you and probably who he created you to be. Just to reassure “you” , ask yourself this ‘simple’ question: Who am I? Rather than reel off assumed answers, kindly pause, take time to think and deeply reflect before responding; if possible, write down your answers.
So, who are you? Are you satisfied with your answers? Do you know and are proud of “you” or do you still create a new identity for yourself depending on who is asking and the impression you want to create? Be careful! That could steadily move you farther and farther away from who God created you to be.
When you know who you are, you can easily reject the negative opinions of others, labels society places on you and the negative thoughts and behaviours that come with them. When you know who you are, you are free from the pressure and stress to impress and are not moved by what people think or say about you. Furthermore, nobody can use or take advantage of you.
Know “you”! Then you do not need anyone to validate what you know: God made you unique and that is what makes you different.
I’m reminded that my value comes from the Lord and not from people.
I am a child of God
This write up actually speaks to me directly… for for a very long time I was one of those who would `create an identity depending on who is talking in an effort to impress’. But I came realize that it was some kind of self imposed bondage that denies you the freedom of really being you. Plus, it was hard keeping up with the identities created. Moreover, it only delayed me from fully expressing God’s purpose for my life. But taking time to know who I am has made me bold. it has made me courageous to venture into new things and most importantly I have become unapologetic of who God made me to be. If we all could do a self reflection and accept who we are and love who we are… it would impact not only our families, communities but generations to come!
Wow! Powerful, thanks for sharing.
Am a child of mighty God.
Am a child of mighty God
I am GodsVictor
I’m a child of God, created in God’s image, I am God’s creation destined for greatness. I am beautiful made, intelligent, strong and bold.
I always look to the God to guide me in redefining myself all the time because who I am changes as I grow physically and in faith.
Honestly this is very valuable advice and reflection… if you don’t Know your worth how do you expect others to know your worth either????
A very profound and useful reflection. I first have to understand myself then I will be able to understand other people. Its the same as learning to love myself first then be able to transfer that same love to others. Its worth knowing my worth and value, since by knowing myself other people are able to attain the same value. No fake image, or personality , its worth being true to oneself . But overall , constantly reminding myself “I am a child of God” even when the negative noises are louder than His truth!!
