A man, Ben Wazabanga, 23, of Fairfax Road and a woman, Ronique Belfon, also 23, of Morinsbury Road, Bedford have both been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in south-east London.

Ayowale Aladejana was found with stab wounds at a residential address in Monson Road, New Cross, shortly after 19:25 BST on Saturday.

The incident happened across the road from what was the Duke of Albany pub, which featured in the 2004 film Shaun Of The Dead.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 26-year-old from South Norwood, Croydon died at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

Ben Wazabang was also charged with possession of a knife.

Both were remanded in custody and are due to appear at separate magistrates’ courts in Croydon and Westminster on Monday.

A post-mortem examination gave a preliminary cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Mr Aladejana’s family is being supported by specially trained officers.
A forensics tent has been set up on the pavement, and flowers have been left outside the terraced house.
