COURTESY OF PUBLICDOMANPICTURES.NET<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Public health officials have diagnosed six new HIV infections in the city among people who have injected drugs since November 2018 \u2014 the majority of which occurred in January, according to an <a href=\"http:\/\/bphc.org\/whatwedo\/infectious-diseases\/Documents\/Joint_HIV_in_PWID_advisory_012519%20(1).pdf\">advisory<\/a> from the Boston Public Health Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.<\/p>\n<p>The Jan. 25 advisory asked hospitals to watch for additional cases of HIV in patients reporting recent injection drug use.
