If you take time to carefully examine the creation story, you will notice that God made a strategic and intentional effort to make you the way that He did for a reason. Therefore, knowing who you are, why and how you were created and understanding your identity is crucial to your walk with Him and His plan for your life.
You are created in God’s image. You are His image-bearer and your self-image comes from Him. This means you have inherent dignity, value and worth. All that, and lots more, comes from God who purposely chose to make you to be like Him. He also gives you His spirit so you can commune with Him. In short, God created a child who, like Him is a spirit, resembles and can enjoy Him.
Therefore, it does not matter what people think or say about you, it does not matter if they do not want to associate with you. You are God’s handiwork created lovingly, intricately and purposefully to fellowship with, resemble and represent Him. Begin to appreciate who you are and partner with Him to fulfil your purpose. Be His proud image-bearer and, as someone approved to be His chosen instrument, use your gifts and abilities for His glory.

Self image- this word is probably one of the most this days. Humanity is somewhat confused not knowing who we really are. Everything is now considered relatively-even truth is now seen as relative to the circumstance. The truth is God created us to reflect and manifest who He His. Our image is not in our profession or career. Our real self is found in the very essence of our creation. We are created in God’s image to dominate and to replicate. We’re supposed to be co-creators through the command to go forth and multiply. To live a life of bliss we not discovered who we are which is only found in searching through the word of God.
Psalm 139:14 declares, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Nothing can be more reassuring than this. Low self esteem is NOT a part of GOD’s image. So, we must reject low esteem totally and embrace our unique beauty in CHRIST.

We are all created in the very special image of God, so ideally we ought to exhibit a resemblance to His nature and character. One of the key attributes if God is dominion. As His children,, He has given us the power to dominate over situations and challenges. We are the salt and light of the world. We arw built on God’s hill so we cannot be hidden. Then again, we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar people whom God in mercy called out of the darkness of this world into His marvelous light to show forth His praises. With all these in mind, our self worth is assured. Praise God!
