Never lose sight of the fact that you are unique, one of a kind and no duplicate. You were not mass produced but customized, created with the competencies and capabilities which you require to fulfil the plan God so lovingly picked out for you. You are not a consequence or a coincidence: remind you or anyone who thinks you are that you are God’s masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made, intentionally created different and His special plan for you does not look like anyone else’s.
So, why compare yourself with others? Why think your identity depends on being who someone else is or having what someone else has? Why covet their personality, calling or gift when God who created you differently for a reason will unveil His purpose to and work fervently with you to fulfil it. Remember why your talents and strengths are different and stop downgrading the unique qualities He has blessed you with.
STOP comparing and competing for you gain nothing by doing so. Do not allow the devil to steal your joy, damage your self-esteem and relationships. Comparing leaves you proud or bitter, makes you compete rather than cooperate. Stop comparing and start appreciating, embrace the real you so your self-worth can rise.
If you must compare at all, compare yourself to yourself yesterday, last year and/or measure yourself by God’s standard.

Your reasoning why one should not compare oneself to another is based of God’s purpose and belief. What if the person is an atheist?
Nice piece of thought. It reminds me of this excerpt of Max Ehrmann 1927 poem ( Desiderata): ” if you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter for, there always will be lesser or greater persons than yourself”
Its very true we should never compare ourself to other. We should be the master of our own lives and our life decisions should not be influenced by other human beings. We should be responsible to our own failures and learn from such failures
This is so true as most of us often get tempted to compare ourselves with either others success, beauty, intelligence e.t.c and I think this might be caused by our inferiority or perhaps we are not content with what we have and we are not patient enough to wait on God’s promises.
All of us are in His image and likeness! God has many parts and so do we!
So true! There is no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it’s their time.
Uniquely and purposeful created. If only we could keep this timeless truth as a banner on our forehead and dearly in our hearts, would we accomplish and fulfill our destiny with less doubt and more focus.

This is so true. Once you start comparing yourself with others it’s almost impossible to stop. I pray that God helps us to be true to who we are.

I quite agree that one should not forget how unique one is and never to compare one’s self to others. Jesus is our yardstick.
Our comparison mantra should be WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
