Remember, Reflect and Reset!

Psalm 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD; yes, I will remember ...

“So this is Christmas” …, the season to be jolly. It is the time of the year when we exchange gifts, share, care, visit friends and family, and celebrate the birth of Christ.  December, being the last month of the year, is also a good time to reflect, remember the blessings of 2024 and start laying the foundation for 2025.

According to Webster’s dictionary, the word REMEMBER means:

  • to think of again, to recall;
  • to keep in mind for attention or consideration;
  • to record or commemorate.

Have you ever wondered why God commands us in His Word to remember? Why is it important to remember His good deeds and what happens when we remember?

Please stop whatever you are doing, close your eyes and look back at where you were in January so that you can correctly remember and appreciate how far God has brought you. What pictures come to mind as you prepare to celebrate Christmas, and as the year draws to an end?

Remembering helps you appreciate your accomplishments and, also, positions you to reset and prepare for the new year with purpose.

As you celebrate Christmas and “remember the good deeds of the Lord”, also remember His greatest gift of love which you received freely and can offer others.  Merry Christmas.
