Alleged Assault: Portable Arraigned For Allegedly Assaulting Ogun State Officials, granted N2m bail

Portable has been arraigned in court after being accused of assaulting Ogun state officials.

Portable, the popular Nigerian singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, has been arraigned in court for allegedly assaulting some government officials in Ogun state.

The 30-year-old  was declared wanted by the police command on Monday, February 17, but he turned himself in to the police in Lagos on Wednesday, February 19 and was taken to Ogun state, where he was handed over to the police command.

An Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, granted him bail following his arraignment on charges of assault and obstruction of government officials.

Appearing before the court on Thursday, the ‘Zazzu Zeh’ crooner faced a five-count charge which included conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of cutlasses and firearms, and conduct likely to cause public harm.

The Ogun-born singer pleaded not guilty to all charges. Following his plea, Magistrate O. L. Oke granted him bail of N2 million, with one surety in like sum.

The judge adjourned the case until March 5 for trial.
