Saudi Arabian authorities have arrested a Nigerian, man, whose identity has not been released, for filming comedy skits during the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage. The authorities cited violations of the solemn religious and cultural atmosphere expected at the holy sites as the man was reportedly caught creating humorous video content within the sacred precincts of the pilgrimage.

Officials described the act as inappropriate and inconsistent with the spiritual focus required during Hajj, which draws millions of Muslims from around the world.

Though details of the skits have not been made public, social media reports suggest that the content was considered disrespectful and offensive by some pilgrims.
