Speak Blessings!

Alan Fadling Quote: “Blessing is speaking words of substantial goodness ...

God uses us in various ways to channel His blessings. This means that, in the past, we have blessed family/church members, friends, neighbours and colleagues whom we love or care about and have, therefore, influenced, touched or changed lives. We are thankful to God for those opportunities.

This month, we have a challenge for you. With your words that have the power to influence and transform lives, we would like to request that you choose somebody to speak blessings over. Again, it could be a family/church member, a friend, neighbour or a colleague.  Here is where it gets interesting: we want it to be someone who least deserves it, someone who has wronged you deeply. Remember, God wants us  to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.

Whichever way you decide to speak your blessings is fine: with words written, spoken or prayed. You may also  choose a prayer of blessing from the Bible or pray scripture(s) into blessings.

Offering this “gift” of hope, forgiveness, compassion and kindness, that comes from deep within, is not likely to be easy but, believe me, you will be glad you gave.

As you purposely and intentionally speak goodness and mercy, as you let go of hurt, anger and pain, our Lord, the giver of hope will bless you with joy and peace. Amen (Romans 15:13).
