On Sunday, April 26 2026, a 6-year-old Nigerian girl, Amna Ayomide Bennett, tragically lost her life after falling from the 8th floor of an apartment building at 200 Chalkfarm Drive, North York.
Police said she had fallen from a bedroom window rather than a balcony and that an autopsy had been ordered. The tragedy is not being treated as suspicious.
Neighbours described little Amna as a sweet, cheerful child who loved watching Cocomelon.
Her painful passing has left the Nigerian community in Canada and everyone who knew her devastated.
