A 41-year-old Canadian, Adrienne Munju, was arrested at terminal of Murirtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, for importing a large consignment of ‘Canadian Loud’, a strong strain of synthetic cannabis.

She was apprehended during inward clearance from a KLM flight from Canada on the 3rd of October 2024. A search of her luggage revealed 74 parcels of the drug, weighing 35.20kg, hidden in two of her three bags.

The NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday, October 6 via the agency’s X handle (formerly known as Twitter) @ndlea_nigeria.

Adrienne Munju, who was arrested at terminal 1 of the Lagos airport, confessed  that she was recruited online to deliver the drugs to Lagos for $10,000 CAD, which she planned to use for her master’s degree tuition in Canada.
